Evolution, the Myth of Science

Evolution, the Myth of Science

Today we are faced with many spiritual, moral, and political issues, all of which seem to stem from one train of thought. This thought process is not just an unbiased scientific study, but it requires faith and is very religious. The presuppositions of evolution conflict with that of the Bible and originate in the position that there is no God and Creator. With the absence of the Creator there is a void of absolute, making Truth subjective. All one needs to do is remove God from the picture and then ask the question, “Where do absolutes come from?” We in essence become gods, doing as we please, caring not for order or the well being of others. Oddly enough, that sounds like the lie that Satan used on Eve “. . . you shall be like God knowing both good and evil.”

The modern view of the Theory of Evolution began in 1859 by Charles Darwin. Many are doubtless familiar with his name. We hear about him in school, museums, on TV, and many other places. It was on the voyage of the H.M.S. Beagle that Darwin thought he confirmed his theory of evolution. However, years later we find that what Darwin postulated — and Huxley (Darwin’s Bull Dog) sought to establish — was incorrect. What Darwin saw concerning the finches, he coined: natural selection to be a process of small changes over long periods leading to a new and better animal. This process has never produced the changes posted by Darwin and therefore is still only a model. What we do see in creation is that through the process of genetic diversity and mutations, living things do adapt to their environment. Nevertheless, they stay within their created kind, as God’s Word ordains in Genesis “. . . bring forth the living creature after his kind. . .” Here God establishes the Biblical classification and sets up boundaries within which creation should operate. Consider this thought: there are many types of dogs, but have you ever seen a dog reproducing anything other than a dog? The same thing can be said of any creature in creation. The DNA is still that of its kind.

Assuming that evolution was true for a moment, we must then believe that rocks and chemicals willed themselves into life from a pool of primordial ooze. Evolution believes that time and chance are driving forces in and of themselves. Evolution in principal defies many of the laws of science such as the Second law of Thermodynamics, which states: all of creation is on a downward spiral (instead of advancing to the next level in evolution).

If evolution: then we should be able to find millions of transitional forms everywhere, yet none have been found. There seems to be four-billion years of fossils missing. Not only do Creationists note this inconsistency, but Evolutionists have also seen this apparent problem.

“This regular absence of transitional forms is not confined to mammals, but is an almost universal phenomenon, as has long been noted by paleontologists.”1

“In the years after Darwin, his advocates hoped to find predictable progression. In general, these have not been found — yet the optimism has died hard, and some pure fantasy has crept into text books.”2

Lacking supporting evidence as a crucial part of the evolutionary hypothetical frame work should send red flags up in our minds. One attempt to cover the lack of transitions is found in an idea of “punctuated equilibrium”. This idea states that evolution just jumped from one kind of life to another without any record of the transition. To state this in simple terms evolution happened too fast in the past and is too slow to now be seen at present. The real question is, does evolution ever happen? The point is biological evolution has never been observed in creation or reproduced in a lab — ever! There is no scientist today that can tell you he saw evolution take place at the suggested four-billion years ago or even at present. What we have seen in the fossil record and in today’s mutations, are simply variations within the created kind. Remembering mutations are losses of genetic information — devolving not evolving. We will never observe anything evolving to a higher state of being.

Much could be said against evolution from a scientific prospectus, however the root of the matter goes deeper than just equations and formulas. What evolution teaches is that we, God’s creation, are not bound to Him; being outside of His jurisdiction we are evolving into gods. The prospects are simple if there is no God then we are the supreme intelligence, all questions of good and evil rest in our opinions.

Truly, many of history’s travesties have been a result of some form of evolutionary thinking. Consider the modern plague of abortion. A child in the mother’s womb is considered non-human until fully developed and delivered. The unborn child is considered to be recapitulating the stages of evolution in the womb. However, God teaches that at the moment of conception, life is valued, has a soul and is a human being. Homosexuality is a form of evolutionary thought as it vies: we just evolved to be this way. Another excuse used is it’s just a genetical feature; here again it’s contrary to God’s created order of male and female, husband and wife. The Evolutionary principle of euthanasia of aged or ailing people promotes survival of the fittest; they need to die sparing our space and keeping the gene pool uncontaminated. The struggle of survival of the fittest is contrary to the word of God.

It does not take much to see the consequences of this myth called Evolution. It does however take faith to believe this great lie. Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. It sounds like Evolution is a religion rather than an unbiased science. This said, the battle over origins is a critical issue for the Believer. This is a battle between a myth and truth.
